At New Harvest Church we have a heart for our community.

We support and believe in the work of local organizations that are providing for the immediate physical needs of those who live and work right here in Salem.

You are invited to join in the work that is being done. There are numerous opportunities for you to share your gifts and talents with the people right here in our town. 

Community Outreach Events

Food Bank

The first and third Saturday of every month we serve our community through the Marion & Polk Food Share as a partner organization. The food bank is a core aspect of our ongoing ministry of helping people with their basic necessities. 

There are opportunities for you to help with food organization, registration, distribution, and support.

We would like to thank Roth’s Fresh Markets for being a supporter of the New Harvest Food Bank.

Volunteer

Harvest Huskies After-School Program

Through our After-school Program, young people from our neighborhood elementary school are given the opportunity to participate in a fun program where they receive mentoring, homework assistance, and get to experience the love of Christ firsthand from the many volunteers who help with the program.

This program meets on Tuesday & Thursday during the school year from 2 – 4:30 PM.  If you have a heart for kids, this ministry can use you.

Prison Fellowship

Prison Fellowship is a non-profit organization that seeks the transformation of prisoners, ex-prisoners, and their families through the power and truth of Jesus Christ. We are a Bridge Church with Prison Fellowship, serving the families of inmates and helping ex-prisoners find a spiritual family right here at New Harvest.

McKay Young Life

Young Life is an outreach to high school students throughout the year at McKay High School. There are several volunteers and an adult ministry committee that support this mission.
