God’s Covenant with Abraham: Promise

So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” Galatians 3:6

God’s Covenant with Moses: Standard

“Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.” Galatians 3:21

Discussion Questions for Groups

Abraham’s faith was credited as righteousness, despite his obvious areas of sinfulness. How does that encourage you?
Why do you obey God’s commands? Do you ever obey them for the wrong reasons?
Two helpful heart diagnostic questions to ask yourself: 1) What causes me to despair? 2) What makes me prideful?
