What are your priorities? 

  • 1st – The Trailhead of Correction

“For the Lord corrects those he loves.” (Verse 12, NLT)

  • 2nd – The Timberline of Generosity

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.” (Verse 9)

  • 3rd – The Altitude of Humility

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom.” (Verse 7, NLT)

  • 4th – The Summit of Trust

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” (Verse 5) 

Discussion Questions for Groups

  • How do you gauge success: Earnings? Education? Possessions? Good name? Leisure time? What are some of your priorities? Why do you value these?
  • What are some of your observations and impressions of these “mountain top” verses? If you had to climb the mountain of these principles, where might you get stuck? Why?
  • How does this teaching from Solomon lead to wisdom? Why are these principles essential to gaining wisdom?
